View Full Version : Curve Road texturing

I have a probelm with road texturing. I am working on a bridge, road have a turn after ending bridge. The problem is this road map is not getting right way, Map scaler and UVW mapping are not making solution. Map is right still the road is straight as road get turn the map remain straight shape. I need that the road map should turn with road turn. I have to use 512x512 map. Sorry for english problem but i think so u get my point

What software are you using? From your terms, it sounds like it may be 3dsmax. If that's the case, use a UVWUnwrap modifier and edit your uvs so that they follow the curve in the road. Or recreate your road using a loft, and turn on mapping, the mapping will automatically follow the curve of your loft. Or if you're using some other software, figure out how to edit your uvs, and do the same thing. Best of luck.

Sorry i had to write down software...ya its 3ds max 9.
I have made it with spline and now it has finished and in editable mash format. Regarding UV, I havn't experince of that and i cant use more than 512map and road is long. So its look difficult for me to do UV.

That's what tiling is for. Take your 512x512 nmap, make sure that it's tilable in the y axis, then tile it 10 or 20 times, as many times as is necessary to follow the road without stretching the texture.
