Hi everyone!

Its been another long year of animation for me and here is a reel showcasing my work over the last 11 months. I hope you enjoy and would love to hear your feedback. To give you an idea on how long this animation took, we had to get about 30 seconds animated a week and about 2 and a half minutes animated over the duration of 5 weeks from layout to final animation.

You can view the reel on my website here (http://www.tararaboom.com/reel.html)

There are also two other versions of this reel

Nice work Tara,
I actually followed the tales of Erky and Perky for a bit and I really enjoyed it.
It's great to be able to see what was your contribution for this fantastic effort.
You have some solid animation there and I like the exegeration and clever use of squash and stretch. Well done!

Keep up the good work.

Cheers,
Av

Thanks for your replies. It isn't often, as an animator especially in Australia, when you get to work on something so cartoon-like in style. We are constantly trying to push ourselves to see how far we can push it without going over board. The whole experience of Erky Perky has just been a blast.

very nice and very funny animation!

I really like the snappy motion, and the character design.
one thing that bothered me a bit, is the lack of motion blur.
I think a little MB would compliment animation.

Yeah when they rendered it no motion blur was added, but also the compression of the quicktime doesn't help that either. I remember alot of the animators wanted motion blur in the rendering process but it wasn't in the higher ups vision lol!

Hey Tara,

Could you please tell us more about where you guys are producing this series in Australia, how many people are working on the animation etc?

Thanks,
Av

We just finished the second series I dunno if they are doing another one. There were 3 teams of animators 6 in each team. It was produced at The Lab Sydney, obviously in Sydney lol! But was a co-production with CCI. We outsourced some of the animation to a team in Canada, so there were 2 teams working in Sydney.

It was a step up from the first series because there were teams of five instead so the quota was alot larger, so this time round we had less which meant better quality.

I can't believe you don't have stars yet.
I voted 5 for you. Just my 2 cents... cause I particularly like your cartoony acting style.

I know this seems like an odd request but could everyone go to my site. If you have problems with load times or anything else on there send me a email to let me know. It seems like I have some issues with load times on the site but I personally haven't seen these issues on different machines.

Worked fine for me Tara.

Love your work. Erky Perky looked like an incredibly fun project to work on.
