View Full Version : Character: Naked cyborg chick
(...) 04-17-2003, 05:55 PM Hi everyone,
I've been away from the board for a while, but now I'm back, and I come bearing Photoshop drawings. :)
This one's a cover image for a book I'm writing. It's done with Photoshop 7 and a graphics tablet.
Let me know what you think. :)

this is pretty cool:buttrock:
however...my life drawing teacher would have been on your ass in a flash over those legs..either the knees are to low or the shins arent long enough...or a bit of both...i think if the feet started where they end right now maybe...
try checkin references
like these here (http://www.fineart.sk)

I like your image, but its seems like there are a few proportional anatomy problems, such as the length of the hands, feet and head.
Overall very cool image.

Thanks for the crits guys, but are you sure about the proportions? I used a Poser model as my reference to avoid just this sort of issue.

The porpotions aside shouldn't the black shading have some of the skin color mixed in with it? Maby try messing around with the blending mode.

Gotta love the cyborg chicks... but to use Poser as a reference will only make your art look like 'art inspired by poser'. I always recognise a poser model...they have a certain 'look'. The human brain is extremely sensitive to noticing problems with the human form (thus the long hunt for the perfect CG person). So when looking for examples of figures, its best to work from the real thing. Heres a great site for just that!

Cuz I suck at 3D. ;)

Yeah I did know about fineart, but I was trying an idea out with using Poser, because it gives refs for the pose, perspective, lighting etc.
Does the image really have that Poser look?
