MasonDoran 04-17-2003, 05:27 PM ok....so in this picture i projectured a texture onto a poly sphere. I aslo attached the alpha map to the placement nodes and to the transparency. the material is a lambert...
what i dont understand is why are there still some semi transparent areas on the sphere....and is it possible to omit the projection from going through the sphere to the othe side?

SInce you ar eusing a projection then it will pass through the geometry to the other side. Since the ball is poly you could select the faces of one half and give it one shader then select the faces of the other half and give it a different shader.
As for the the image being semi opaque wher ethe textur eis not there is a color value assigned when a texture doe snot wrap that by default is grey. It is the default color under color balance.. set it to full white or black.
