I need to vectorise a real face taken from a digital camera. Any tutorials out there that can give me some tips.

I think i can help you, but you need to have AdobeIllustrator.

Open a photo and select it. On top bar you will see option live paint. You have different types for converting your image to vector, and you can even create swatches.
