View Full Version : Super-realistic Pencil Drawing
stepnw1f 04-17-2003, 03:54 PM This drawing was a turning point for me. I pushed myself for a year or so to get the lighting right. It's hard, especially when the still-life stands in the middle of your bedroom. Dust, time of day and other factors make this type of work painstaking, however it was truly worth it. Hopefully I can find a way to model the way I draw. Time and determination. The drawing is 24" x 22"±. Hope you like.

Impressive. What did you use? Charcoal?
I'm not sure about the subject matter, still-lives don't do much for me, but I'd love to see you do something more life-oriented with this kind of realism and excellent shading.

The lighting is excellent. Whole picture has got a real nice soft quality to it.
Have you read 'Drawing Realistic Textures in Pencil' by J D Hilberry? You'd probably enjoy it.
Keep up the good work.
