View Full Version : Sci-Fi Loader Craft
stepnw1f 04-17-2003, 03:01 PM I modeled and textured this guy, and hope to have enough time to add some more detail as well as fix some specular and bump maps. Tell me what you think.

Really nice... i love the textures.
Looks very eagle like from the front view.
Not sure what the lines are inside the pod on the front view... looks like its trailing off into the distance... apart from that i think its stunning

you need to make a specular map or somthing...cause your spec is really bad right now
but other than that great model

This ship looks pretty good, a bit flat 'cause of bad lights but it's just a preview, i suppose. (listen to Darius opinion if you like)
Now, that's a 'sci-fi' ship so i believe it's meant to fly inside and outside Earth atmosphere. (or whatever planet you like...)
I think you should make a device to hide those long wings inside the body, 'cause they are useful when flying inside atmosphere but useless when fying outside atmosphere.
They could easily get damaged by space debris like meteors or something else... I mean, lots of star wars, star trek, but where do those exploded ship's debris go? ... they go on your wings, eheheheheh :o)
EDIT: The cargo under the ship and the ship's arms used to pick it up are going to burn down 'cause of the ship's engines, try to put those engines a bit far away from the ship/cargo.
Just build 4 short straight arms between the engines and the ship body.

Really good suggestions. The spec and saturation are a bit off since I made the layout into a jpg. I'll have to look at my settings. Anyhow, The wings are meant for atmoshperic aviation, short trips just for construction purposes. The feul I imagine the craft using, would be a source that doesn't effect the material of the arms. I should however make it obvious, since I did not illustrate that aspect at all. Maybe an insulaed ceramic tile, such as that used on shuttles. The flatness is mainly due to a desaturation issue when saving the image. Let me try to fix that. Thanks again people. I really appreciate the crits.

That I can't agree with. The model is amateur, but not "gaudy." A little too extreme as a critique. Not constructive.
Oh well....anyone else agree with demeaning ones work rather than constructively criticizing.

I don't think our friend here needs to copy any concept from anybody 'cause his ship is COOL too, he's in here to get our opinions and suggestions to make it better, not to redo it all.
