(http://assets.cgsociety.org/nvart/1196210949/1024bound)This is a work deriving from my interest in recursive image. The scene is made by 63956 polygons, no bitmap image, no light and no radiosity or other GI techniques. To speak truly there is a light in scene, but its strenght value is 0 (Lightwave forces you to let at least 1 light in scene, even if it allows you to turn off it). So it is really unpredictable that the scene is full of light.
There are 3 balls, a semisphere, a pentagonododecaedron with pins cloned over the main faces and a lot of boxes hosting their pins too. The light is produced by the irrealistic reflection rate: 250% for the spheres and 500% for the semisphere. But even the ray recursion limit is important. Less than 10 the image is almost blackish. Greater than 14 the image is overexposed and white. Each pattern is produced by reflection and by a single procedural texture (Shape bomber by Dennis Pontonnier) over the semisphere.
Hope you like it

Nice Lav! So glad you finally joined in on the fun. I was beginning to think our annual ball feast was all me this year! Nice concept using Denis's image bomber! I was thinking about trying a simular tech using HV's as I remember I had some really funky cool results doing that a couple years back.

Many thanks. This is a great opportunity to see and show the other side of the 3d.
