I'm texturing the side of a building. I want the windows to be reflective and the bricks not to be. The whole side of the building is one texture. I'm using color, bump, and reflective bitmaps in a blinn shader to achieve the desired effect. The color and bump channels are working great.
Here's the problem. I'm using a black and white bitmap for the reflectivity and it just makes the whole side of the building reflective. The bitmap doesn't have any effect on how the reflectivity is working.
I tired plugging in a random checkered procedural pattern just for a test and it work. I also tried the ramp shader, that also worked. I just can't seem to get it to work with an image. I've also tried saving the file as other formats such as JPG, TGA, TIFF. That doesn't work either.
I'm using Maya 2008 and Mental Ray. Is this a bug? If anyone can help it would be much appreciated.
