Hello all, I've been browsing here for awhile but I've been afraid to post any work he he, but I think it would really do me some good to get some critiques from a wide range of people so here is a clip of some animation I've done. It's an alien getting out of his ship after a crash landing. I'd like to know what I can tweak to get more realistic motion from him. I'm not going to change the geometry (I know it could use some tweaking but I just don't have the time) and I am going for a slightly cartoonish look.

looks good, though i have some comments..... the camera angle looks weird while the character is still in the "ship". Maybe you'd just want to make a clearer shot of him. and then zoom out or another camera when he goes out.

well that's it.. :D

other than that it looks good. :D

Great start. Really good foundation although I would definately do a few things to help refine it. For instance, it seems that while the parts of his body are moving at different times and are randomized that way, they see to be moving at the same speed. Try varrying up a few things in the speed, either speeding up some aspects of movement or slowing them down to snails pace. Not far from finished. Nice job

Ok, well I completed the sequence and playblasted a color one with some smoothing on, I haven't really altered the timing on much so I think he is still a little robotic, but it's coming along.

I'm mainly looking for critisism on his movements and actions. does everything he does fit?

Oh and a brief plot description leading up to this scene: the alien has just crashed through a wall of a coffee shop and has just regained his senses.

I loved this animation :D It's well on its way to being really great. I wonder why no one is replying. Perhaps you need to add porn to this thread to get peoples attention ;) Just kidding. Speaking of porn, Im going to do a thread search to see how many threads appear with people using the word. Obviously I'll get at least one, being mine.
