View Full Version : Render transparenct texture Z-Depth map in Maya

Hi everyone,

I have a question about Z-Depth in Maya. I have transparency alpha map on planes in my scene. I can not cut out their shapes when I render them in Z-Depth (Luminance Depth) render layer. What should do with the render layer setting or camera setting.

Also I am wondering how can I render the Z-depth layer not just only from Black to White (blur to focus) but also black to white to black (blur to focus to blur). I have a scene that has a main character in between front and background, so I only want to foucs on him not rest of things.
