hi all...

im making a new character (how unusual :) ). im starting off with its head. 4-5h of poly modeling in maya4.5 so far and as you see not very convincing yet.

the problem is this. i dont find a good way to cut out the eyes! i want then to look somewhat humanly realistic, but i just dont manage to do that.

question: is there someone out there who knows of some good tutorial showing the modeling of eye lids and stuff? and i mean ofcourse human eyes... it would be a great help for me to "copy" a technique and develop my own from there.

thanks!

thanks. im aware of the things you marked though :). my biggest issue at the moment is the eye thing... so if you know a tutorial it would be great :)

there are a lot of other things still to be tweaked, but again, the EYES! :D they really bug me :scream:

very little feedback so far... i wonder why? ;)

anyway, heres an update. not too much big stupp, mainly small pokes here and there. the eyes look much better. i didnt find a tutorial so i had to do it the hard way :)

no texuted details so far, no hair and stuff either. just a shader to make the head more alive.

im planning to make a full body for him too so references besides fineart.sk are welcome if anyone wants to help :)

ive actually become aware of the ear-thing lately. many ppl have commented on exactly the same thing as you, and also the sides of the mouth :)

also, i think, the ear looks like plastic :P. im working with the head on evenings when my working hours end... an hour here an hour there and so on. lets see how much time ill get in the future. atm we are in a crunch.

the lower lip line looks too sharp
the lips pinch to a point in the coner try overlapping the upper lip over the bottom

The eyes lids look to regular kinda like the shape of a football. Try adding my vertices and making them more uneven

I am new at this, but it looks like the head is turned around. It looks like the clothing is facing away from us and that he just turned his head all the way around. Maybe you could adjust the clothing to make it appear different or maybe it's just me. Nice modeling though!
