View Full Version : How to model armor/clothing?
DarkZeal 11-26-2007, 11:10 PM Does anyone know the best way to model armor and clothes? Is it easier to just extrude faces from the body and reshape? or better to model from scratch and let the model "wear" it. Also is there any tutorials (apart from the Joan of Arc one) that goes over how to model cloths and stuff?
Thanks

If you use Zbrush you can retopologize ontop of your model that you want to have clothes/armor on. That is really the easiest way of doing it and maintain a nice looking mesh, for me that is. But you could always model the clothes directly on your model, it all really depends on how realistic you want your model to be. For movies/cinematics you would want to go for the first example and for games the second. For me, i use zbrush one on both.. but thats me. I just like that workflow.
