"...has taken another step forward with the news that Val Kilmer, Eric Idle and Michael Clarke Duncan have joined the film's voice cast."
Good Golly ! It looks like somebody got some serious funding. It's great to hear that after more than a year this project is seriously taking off big time.

Sweet lord!
I agree with "Slaughter".
I think that with a voice cast like that, a theatrical release is now a sure thing!

Not really, voice acting is pretty cheap. Most people don't realize it but even the biggest actors only get 5-10k per session. Usually a big part will be around 10+ sessions. Though Shrek 2 might change this because they are giving the three big actors 5-10 million each.
Just check out that really horrible full cgi movie Sinbad that was done in India. Their budget was really small and they had the voice of Brenden Fraiser(after he did the Mummy, so he was a hot commodity).

Ahhh... To live in a world where the phrase, "...only get 5-10k per session." could apply to me :)

Yeah you could have the best voice talent in the world....but it wont carry the movie...
I mean if its meant for kids...and thats what they say..... then what do kids care about Val Kilmer...you want good voices not good names....
And if the animation suks...then no voice in the world is gunna save it....
Voices are relatively cheap vrs production of the whole movie...probably combined less then 1Million.... production is what costs the big bucks... and as far as Ive heard...they still didnt have film distrubution...but these names might carry them to that...but it doesnt mean it will be good

Ummmm...aren't you supposed to record all the voices BEFORE you start doing the animations? They've been working on it for how long, and only now are getting their voice talent?

I know their pay is pretty competitive though also and they have a decent sized staff. They're not too far from my hometown and I was thinking about sending them my reel after a couple of my friends have talked with them and interviewed with them. It's sounds like they've got the funding to pull this off with a good degree of professionalism.

Ever hear of "looping"? Many commercial films released these days have looped audio where the actors re-do the dialogue in the studio to match film footage.
It's a common practice and nothing new, though it is certainly desirable to have it produced beforehand. That way naturally the animation can be better tuned to the actual voice performance.

As far as I remember, the movie was made in Singapore. Some years ago, it was shown on USA (?) channel, and yeah, it was really bad.
