View Full Version : UV Mirror on Polygon models
I'm looking for a mel script or plugin that will recreate the UV mirroring abilities of XSI. The purpose being I don't want to have to unwrap both halves my model as it is already weighted with face shapes. Any help you guys can throw my way would be super.

If your model's symmetrical, surely you can just work with one half of the model, get all the uvs right, then duplicate -x, connect the two shapes and stitch the body uv's together. Bear in mind I don't know exactly what the XSI plugin did.
Thats a really good idea, thanks alot, but the problem is that I've already smooth skinned the model and created 7 face shapes. I might be able duplicate the model, cut it in half, get uv right layed out, merge it and then copy the uv coordinates over to the master model (the topology should be identical,,, hopefully.) I'll give it a shot, but hopefully somebody know a faster way using a mel script. In XSI all you have to do is select your mirror plane (xyz axis) hit a button and voila your map is mirrored. Thanks again man.
