YES is there any other software other than photoshop which u can use to create avatar skins with ...also any good tutorials or online video sites to learn to create these...if so what are sites names...also im wondering about what sites if any i can go to to get some skin texutres to use for my skins...

Do you know bodypaint (http://www.maxon.net/pages/products/bodypaint3d/bodypaint3d_e.html)?
Nobody can challenge photoshop brushes but bodypaint is a good way to paint texture without many problem with UV. :)
