I encounter this problem quite often when i model my body parts separately and then combine them as one. when i start merging the verts, these black shading problem always occur. how can i fix this problem? whats wrong? just looks damn ugley!!!

Wow. lol. when i was picturing what it could be before the image opened, i thought it was a few shaded spots under the armpit after merging the torso and arm (usually what i get).. but WOW, thats a lot more than i expected. anyway, just mess around with your smoothing groups, probably just set the entire hand to the same group and you should be fine.

When you combine two meshes, you need to do some cleaning work, if i remember correct.
'Delete history' should be the first, and 'Normal' would be next. Don't recall exact step which I wish to let you know.
Another trick is export combined mesh as OBJ, and import it back; pro is this will generate a fresh copy of your original mesh, so you don't need to worry about mesh nodes tangling around... Still you need to check if there are any faces fliped (reversed) compared to the original. Turn off 'double-sided' option (it's under "render stats" from attribute editor for the selection), and then you may see the problem parts if there is any. Just reverse them and you are good to go...
