View Full Version : Warrior (WIP)
pichulin 11-25-2007, 03:26 AM This will be part of a larger composition (that's the intention), but now, I would like you to tell me about colouring. It's B/W base. How do you colour from B/W? This is my first attempt doing this (I'm quite new to digital painting) and I've used the color balance (CTRL+B) tool in PSCS3. I supouse I'll harmonize it by using the traditional color palette, because now it's too flat...

The way the mouth and nose are make it look like someone is punching him on the left side of his face.
His gut looks like he's holding it in big time.

Id say start off with a bit of colour in the background. What you usually do is take the colours of the background and build it into the forground / skin. You also need to decide where your light directions are. You dont need to have the background finished first, but the colours need to be laid down. Looking forward for some updates :)
