View Full Version : Sketchbook Thread of |siosism|
siosism 11-24-2007, 04:04 PM I have been prowling CGTalk forums for quite some time, and have frequently dropped my jaw to work displayed on this site, but have never dropped the balls to post up some of my own work. I am very much an "independent worker" and a perfectionist at heart, doing things on my own most of the time because I have always been forced to in team environmentsn (at school). Recently, though, I realized that it was getting the better of me, and that I was now afraid of receiving public criticism. I have decided to break out of that comfort zone by finally posting work for critique & feedback, which I know will benefit greatly from the members of this community!
I will start out by posting anatomy sketches (although I have many past ones) since, what I have learned, anatomy forms the building blocks towards great artistry. I look forward to everything that is to come!

Here is my first post. I'm having trouble with my scanner, so I can only upload some old drawings (for now). This sketch was done while studying the rear (back) muscles, about a year or two ago. I added in some extra things, just for fun. Crits welcome!
PS. How do you get images to show up in your post?

Hi siosism, welcome. :) Check out this thread to learn how to post images to your thread:
http://forums.cgsociety.org/showthread.php?f=177&t=267088&page=1&pp=15
You don't have to use photobucket as an imagehost, but if you look through the pages, you will see a post regarding how to make your image appear as an image instead of as a link.
Cheers,

Thanks Rebecca! I believe the problem was with the browser I'm using (Opera). It worked fine once I used Internet Explorer!

Heh, you want to post your image by pasting the URL of your image file into the yellow mountain / sun icon of your EDIT POST text editor:
http://images.siosism.multiply.com/image/2/photos/32/orig/1/sketch3.jpg?et=M9TVZTLh0mtwAFWTtHDdRg&nmid=75165442
Test:

This should work in any browser.
Weird, it's not working - not sure why. If the problem persists, I'll contact an admin.

Yeah, that is strange. It shows up in the text box while I'm editing, but after I post, it goes back to being a link. Perhaps admin help is needed?

Checking into it. :)
Edit - it's got to be your image host or something, because a random google image shows up fine...I tried another image from your site, and that doesn't work either. You might try hosting with Photobucket for the images you post to the forums.

Hey Rebecca, images seem to be working now! Hope I can get some feedback on that first image. Will post new ones in the coming week!

This is the latest drawing I have for one of my character designs. It's based on a Nanumean (one of the 8 atolls in Tuvalu) legend of a half-man, half-spirit who founded and protected the island from opposing forces (both natural and supernatural). All crits welcome!
