THIS IS A DIFFERENT TRAILER ( and way better!) than the one previously shown in the US!

Since this movie is being distributed by Columbia pictures Internationally, they are using a completely different campaign than that in the US (WB is the US distributor).

I am on the fence on this one, but this trailer almost makes me want to se it.:

That trailer was a lot better than the ones I've seen. But I still think its going to be a rental.

I really have to scratch my head over why the distributors would have such a different trailer for the U.K. I'm not sure if it's a matter of completely different agencies making them in each region (especially since this one is so different in many ways)...

But, man, except for the poor choice of music, this new one is head and shoulders above the U.S. trailers. More sense of story and mood... Almost makes you think it could be an okay film.

Guess we'll see! :D

Hmmm...I suppose the Goodie terminator will have new "touchie-feelie" emotions...so much for "It can be reasoned with. It can't be bargined with. It doesn't feel pity or remorse...".:annoyed:

The SFX looks rather nice, though...

the fembot part looked a bit like the alien chick from species :P

and wasn't this music also used in the LOTR trailer?

Oh they do that all the time. Remember the James Horner (I think) music from Aliens that's been used in about 85,000 movie trailers since then?:D

I thought the quality of the original link in this thread was kinda crappy so I didn't watch it all the way through, but here's a nice new high quality one at apple:
http://www.apple.com/trailers/sony_pictures/t3-international/largeplayer.html

This makes it look so much cooler, and darker then those MTV-pop lookin US trailers. I'm definetly looking forward to seeing this, I hope it doesn't suck. :wip:

I don't know.

Having been through the second movie where the war was avoided at the end and now seeing the war is still on, I feel cheated. Was there a loose thread that I missed? They destroyed the chip that came from the first terminator, and they destroyed the lab that was supposed to be the manufacturer, and they destroyed T2 and the second terminator, and they convinced the scientist that the Terminator was real and so was the potential for war. What is open for another film? And how will we know if the next one is the end? Maybe a false war? The real one comes in T4 or T5.

I liked the first movie the best. It was the most pure in concept.

see what happens when the script is stolen and another person is set to doing the task.

at least they didn't include the crappy "she'll be back line" in there.

sorry they rescripted as if parts of the second movie never happened.
and arnold is back becasue this is the only role he can do, not much talking just there to look big.

heyheyhey, surely the explenation wil come while watching the movie, and personally I find the line "It is time" (ooh the originality) more crappy than the "She'll be back" line

:p

watching the last couple trailers really made me think "made for tv type movie" but this one is actually pretty cool and gives me hope heheh. I guess it will be best to just not have high expectations and then if it does turn out great then all the happier I will be lol. Good luck arnie :p

He-he... the magic of sequels! NO PLOT is sealed off so good Hollywood can't revive it. -Remember Alien 3 and 4? ;)

Anyway, I'm still wondering the same as you are... because, according to T2, judgment day was in 1997, but now that it's 2003, it should be pretty clear that it didn't happen... yet in the new trailer, John Connor says something along the lines of "It's today! Judgment day! It's three hours from now!"... hm... I think they'll boil it down to something pretty simple... it is a popcorn movie after all...

I'm still suspicious about this movie, but I must admit the international trailer looks a lot better than the US one.

First of all - FINALLY a babe takes the nude time travel ride! Men have been screaming for that since girls screamed at Arnold's butt in 1984...

Second, it looks like we actually get to see the spheric time travel device this time. I've also looked forward to that.

And in general, the future battle scenes look really, really cool (unlike the present-day action scenes, which look like something out of Universal Soldier or 48 hrs: stuff blowing up with no dynamic feel, or "oomph", if you know what I mean... just a lot of flame-engulfed vehicles... doesn't really look cool).

Furthermore, the idea of making a terminator with built-in weapons has been painfully obvious since the first Terminator movie... I mean, they couldn't transport weapons of any kind back in time, 'cause it would only transport organic stuff... hence the nudity... yet Arnold's metal endo-sceleton went through without a problem, because there was flesh around it... well gosh, why not build in all the cool weapons INSIDE the terminator, so they get to go back too? -Apparently that's what they have finally thought of now, after two decades...

...Yipes, another too long "much ado about nothing"-essay.. gotta stop these things! ;)

Cheers,
- Jonas

Well..in T2 a big part of the CyberDyne research (including the arm and the chip) is destroy, therefore SkyNet will not become selfaware simply because it isnt developed yet. This is the new timeline -> SkyNet will still be build and become selfaware, but because of the events in T2, CyberDynes research had a major setback..but they will still end up developing SkyNet..

Hope this clears it out?

Well, "major setback" is putting it lightly, I think... ;) What I'm wondering about is, what's gonna get them back on track in the first place? Everything was pulverised or melted. (except of course Arnold's arm, which he left in the steel mill in T2... hm....)

Well, we'll just have to wait and see! :)

Cheers,
- Jonas

from what I understand this one takes place somewhere between the two previous movies...I'm too tired to think hard right now but John is a "young adult" in this one and the movie seems to take place during that time so maybe that's how it's explained?

I think you are too tired... :D

Since the 1st Terminator ended with Sarah pregnant...
and T2 was John at... what, 12??...

Then to have a film "between" them would make John six-years-old!... Unless, it's a 23-year-old John coming back to save the six-year-old John!:p

lol good thing I put in that disclaimer :p. I could have sworn that it was supposed to take place between the two in the timeline but I guess that doesn't make too much sense. Hmm well since they are dealing with multiple timelines maybe it was referring to the future lol (read previous disclaimer :p).

seriously, this film will have a hard time impressing anyone after the disastrous trailers and boring script...

I'll see it if... I have the extra time?

I don't really care if the world is saved again or not, frankly, I'd like to see it destroyed someday, hehe, in film of course
Not that I wanna promote violence or anything

For what it's worth, this trailer was almost o.k.

OH MY DEAR GOD , what the hell.. they must have paid him alot of money to do that. ive forgoten all about that.. jesus christ im dying over here.

But other than that , T3 seems to be a rehash of the second movie. Terminator has the same basic plot , Machines sent back in time to kill someone which always makes me ask the question why not send a terminator back in time to kill Sarah Conors mom , but then that wouldnt be such an exciting movie. It seems that if Skynet has the capabilities and technology mind you for time travel , they should make some sort of weapon that just kills human flesh or something.

I know im not the only one who WILL be disaponted with T3 , t3 like the Aliens Vs Predator movie has just been so anticipated , everyone with their own opinions and speculations of how these movies can be made and be made well. I feel that T3 has ignored the fanbase completely to make some Crappy movie with the T3 badge, it seems that they didnt have to have the 'terminators' in the movie and just some 'ROBOTS' .. It really takes away from all of the coolness of Terminator. Hell even the TX looks like a retarded gimp, i do not know if Stan Winston had anything to do with it , but it looks like Sil from species. The whole 'Kickass Chick" idea in movies was completely killed i think Trinity will go down in the books as the last good one.

I really do hope that T3 will be a great movie , even though i havent seen the movie , im not alone on this but remember the way we ALL felt watching the trailers for T2 , if you are like me , you actually got a gut feeling about the movie and you were in awe. This t3 seems like it will be with the rankings of just a generic action movie , with big cg fight scenes and explosions. As someone said also , i doubt the story will be complex at all .. we wouldnt want the general public to not understand it. Even though movie companies are in it to make big bucks, they should realize what they create when they make a good movie , with a following, and that they owe it to everyone out there who has purchased t2 t1 , tshirts toys and all . to make a good movie for all of us. And i hope to god that there is SOMETHING about the arm over at the steel mill.

All in all..

Terminator 3 would have been best as a exciting Rumor in our heads instead of a heap of hollywood bullshit.

Perhaps it will not be up to T2,but it I think can be close.espeacially considering a decade has passed technology wise. With that and a story comparable to the first,I mean how different can they be it just might be better.

I saw this trailer here in Australia before Xmen 2 and it actually made the film look half decent, probably due to the LOTR trailer music (which i'm sure LOTR took from somewhere as well).

All the same, T3 does look like it will be a letdown, the story doesn't really seem to gel together, too much of a rehash of T2, too many gimmicks.

I ain't buying the female terminator, she's no T1000 in the scariness stakes, looks like a weak antagonist, which bodes badly for the film.

I thought I'd be hugely excited by a third Terminator film but this film just really seems to lack the Cameron touch, that bit of menace and steadfast direction.

Still, the judgement day stuff was cool, but again, that's a relic from the previous film, this one doesn't seem to bring anything new to the table.
