View Full Version : modeling a knife (chef, butcher or in that range) in c4d?

hey ive tried this a few times but i cant seem to get the shape right, can anyone give me a couple of tips, or a link to a tutorial?

Get some reference of the knife you wan't to model and make sure that reference is in your face 24/7 when ever your modeling the knife. Put the references on to grids in your 3D scene to help you with the shape.

If you have money, go buy yourself some knives...haha just kidding.

heh thanks, i dunno im terrible at modeling knives and stuff like that but im alright at other things. i'll have another go l8r but im trying to model all the stuff in my room at the moment.

Hi, ideally when modelling knifes, consider using weighted nurbs on the base mesh, i've not tried the method myself, but a friend made some knife's and swords and he used weighted nurbs on the sharp blade section while keeping the remaining mesh smoothed out.
