this is my first plugin i wrote, i began with the maya api 2 weeks ago and this is the result.

sorry because de docs are in spanish so i will write the way to work here

put the plugin in the plugins folder, the script in one of the path were maya can find

made a nurbs shape for the muscle with spans 8x3, the better is made a nurbs cylinder 8x3

freeze transformation

and type musculo <insertOBJ> <endOBJ> <muscle>

were
<insertOBJ> is the joint,shape or locator you want to control de begin of the muscle (the near of the u=0 and v=0)
<endOBJ> is the joint,shape or locator you want to control deend of the muscle
<muscle> the name of the nurbs

it`s not perfect, but works well, i hope that you test, say if you saw a bug, and a feedback for it.

im guessing you should post this in the general maya area.. or even the character setup section. since its not really a mel related question, but advertizing a plugin ( which i think has a ton of potential )

only one thing i forget, must do a freeze transform to the shape before run the script

ok, i`m trying to solve , but i´m not at home these days, so must wait 2 or 3 days, but i´m trying someone can compile it well

Hmm, I use SDK and wrap deformers for a basic muscle system. however that can be tedious so I weclome anything that gets the job done faster(and better).

how are the muscles deformed (inside of maya)?

loaded up your "skeleton.mb" seems to be working just fine:thumbsup:, interesting stuff. i'll have a better look at it later

the deformation is just a deformer i write, it catch the transform matrix of the two joint, locator or shapes and the transform matrix of it in the creation time , the create a new transform matrix for the center of every line of cv in the v direction and the cv are the new center + a lineal interpolation betwen the cv transform by the actual position of the 2 joints.
