When I export my UV to zbrush something weird happens, I've tried looking in the import/export options but I cant find the answer.

The problem is that my UV is "cut" into pieces in Maya when it is exported back, this makes it impossible to smooth which more or less makes Zbrush useless for my projects.

An answer would make my day/night, thanks in advance. :)

Think theres a "merge uv" in the exportsection, (export is located in 2 places, bottom of "tool"-section too). But im not sure.

Otherwise theres a merge uv in maya, somewhere in the uv textureeditor, if you set distance to 0.0001 or similiar, it will merge it all together as you want (thats is what I do)

Thanks alot

I tried using the merge uvs in zbrush but it completely removed the uv for me(maybe becouse I used automatic mapping)

The merge UV's in Maya didnt work on the uv I had used automatic mapping on but it did work on the model that I modeled by "hand" using planar cylindrical etc mapping.

So once again

Tack så mycket. :)

Now I got a new problem regarding zbrush. -_-

First I import my model to z3 for modeling then I export it to z2 for displacement map and normal map but when I try to use reconstruct lower subdiv-level a message comes up and nothing happens

"unable to reconstruct lower subdiv-level. operation canceled"

Any ideas?

Thanks in advance//Max

export all of the maps using 3.1, it works flawlessly in this end
