View Full Version : how to comp z-depth pass with rgb pass to got fog?
Ok here what I got. Standard image (buildings) rendered from 3dsmax with all reflections, shadwos etc. And z-depth pass (just grayscale). Now I want to compose those in af to controle with z-depth fog in this image (so building far away will be in fog. I was trying to use 3dfog but for that I need rpf with zdepth and I got only targa for rgb and this z-depth. So what I need to use to comp this right?

Simple, just copy the zdepth data in the Z-channel of your image using a channel boolean tool. Connect the two, make sure you tick 'use extra channels' in the Bol node, and then copy either of the colour channels (since it's a gray scale image) into the Zbuffer. Then you can use the 3dfog node.
Hope that helps.
Thank you very much! This is it :)
