View Full Version : Compositing passes for SSS
Mobius424 11-23-2007, 04:17 AM Hi Guys, working on a shot where a creature has lots of SSS elements.
Any advice on how I can properly set up rendering passes for compositing? What sort of kung-fu can I use just in case the director wants to tweak the SSS quality of the creature (more scattering/less scattering) in compositing? Is it even possible in comp?

We need to see how complex of creature's model & texture. Sometimes we will render extra SSS layer for comp. You should turn off all the lights except the SSS light. Then you will get the bright area of SSS only. Using screen & opacity in compositing to adjust the level you want.
sorry for my poor English, hope you get what I mean ;P
