Hi

Ive been working on this piece for a while now. Im really at a loss of what to do with the colors. They just refuse to "pop". Ive tried some different schemes, but it never really "comes alive". Any tips for me? (some parts arent done, yes i know)

yes.. I see what you mean...

I think your problem on the dragon/dino is that the green is to much the same.. you should add some hints of blue and red in there to give it some more colour variation
Also their seem to be missing some actual highlights on the skin but that may be because it aint finished yet.

I would suggest to bring some surrounding colour into what you have... that is the way light works.. so since they are in the sky a more blueish-white tone would be great for secondary light... also bouncing from the clouds and some yellowish sunlight to be the main source.

I think the character in front looks quite okay, and even better with above step taken. Only thing I would do there is to put some orange into the yellow to give it a deeper colour. Also shadows tend to be more purple and less red.
