Firstly I'd like to say hello to everybody, from what I've seen this seems to be a cool place with many kickass C4D users....

OK I got started on C4D last week and aside from the basic stuff I tried to achive something similar to a movie on Maxon's site, the jellydonuts (which, BTW, is what made it for me convincing to jump from Strata to a more serious app) but I get chubby blobs that just float instead of those nice fluidy streaks..... :hmm:

I've got a hypernurbed metaballed particle emitter with turbulence and rotation with the following settings:

Metaball:
hull: 450
editor subdivision: 20
render sub: 5

Emitter:
birthrate: 800
lifetime: 800
speed: 800

Rotation:
angle speed: 30

Turbolence:
Strenght: 60

Thanks :applause:

I can't give you much advice other than I think you should switch your editor and render subdivision amounts...

But I'm surprised you managed to get somewhat similar results already.

Kirl, it may seem weird but thats how metaballs work, the lower the setting the higher the quality. 5 is really nie quality, 2 is brilliant but sooo slow typically. 20 is garbage Odd and confusing I know but that may help if you have troubles with metaballs

Weird... :hmm:

Is Maxon trying to mess with our heads or what? :p
