I've now got 3 systems at my disposal
2 are dedicated to video and one for graphcs

I'd love to have the 2 video machines work in sync so that I can render/output video using their combined resources

Im doing DV video, chop and Post in Premiere and Im stuck having to output to 1024KB WMV for distribution accross our network.

is there anyway I can get 2 systems to work together to cut my render time down from 3 hrs to 1.5?

Any help at all on this would be great.

Limitations : Budget, there is no more money, im pressing my luck as is having 3 PCs for one person so squeezing any more would be really hard.

You're trying to create a render farm and a SAN? Theoretically yes, you can connect any n number of machines and be fine with it. Practically, it depends on hardware, operating systems, etc. With Apple, there's a render queue manager that's built into the system and comes with Shake or Final Cut. I'm assuming you're probably on PC tho. So you might need to look at a rendering manager to send jobs to your secondary PC

I just did a follow up post with more details as Ive had a few hours to look into it better and had some advice from Watermage to list everything specifically.

me = Noob to forums

But specs are

2 HP Pcs @ 3.0GHz P4s, 2GB Ram, on board video :( 200GB HD
there is an additional 500GB HD that I'd like to render to

they are hooked up on a 100Mbit network domain.
