I think that would only be possible if Maxon's file format included an image preview of the scene, otherwise loading the libraries necessary to interpret the Maxon file (and its associated plugins) would be as cumbersome as loading the app itself.

Perhaps there is an image preview though, since files in the content browser have a preview icon...

This would be a nice feature. It would also be great if the C4D format had an image preview in it so that other apps like adobe bridge or iView Media could be used as asset managers...
