hi,

I'm trying to generate an EXR 16 bits from a HDR (32bits) with photoshop.

- First problem this seems to be impossible, when switching to 16 bit photoshop flaten the pic to 8 bit even if it's in 16 bits mode. :scream:

- Second thing : Curiously the saved exr file is larger than the same file saved when beeing in 32 bit node : Exr32 is 2Mb when exr16 is 4.8 Mb !

I tryed different soft but none of them can save a decent exr 16 bit picture.

Do you know why life is so hard sometime ? :)

Why not try Artizen HDR, it can easily open your HDR and save it as a EXR file. I do it all the time, usually cause of the space factor. It is only a Windows app so if your a Mac user sorry.

you might also want to try OpenEXR free (ae only) http://www.fnordware.com/OpenEXR/ or ProExr (not free, ps & ae).

the few experiences I've had with 32bit in CS3 have not been great
