Title: Portrait of a Space Pirate
Name: Coralie Fox
Country: USA
Software: Painter, Photoshop

For me, this piece was primarily an experiment in lighting, texturing and surface variations. The character was rendered in Daz|Studio and the landscape done in Terragen. Postwork detailing on his hair, eyes, skin and clothing was done with both Photoshop and Painter.

Comments are welcome. Thanks for looking.

A terragen landscape and a standard model. So.....basicly this is nothing.

character was rendered in DAZ Studio? did you model the character or was it a preset and you added textures?

Postwork detailing on his hair, eyes, skin and clothing was done with both Photoshop and Painter.
i've used the same jacket in my latest image and even though my image is somewhat darker the jacket is the exact same (i can post a lighter version), so i can't figure out what postwork you actually did on the clothes.

L33tace -- Concerning his jacket -- "postwork" was meant in its literal sense, such as after rendering I took the image and I corrected flaws (i.e., angles, gaps and correct shading) and then enhanced features (ie., sharpening, shading, added highlights in parts that I wanted more, etc.). With his skin, eyes and hair, the same was done but in those areas I also spent time "sketching" via brushes and lines (pen tablet) to add further detail (i.e., strands, creases, etc.,) and enhancements (i.e., highlights, shadows, volume, etc.). An example is shown below with the Before on the left and After on the right.

Simon3D -- I had marked Photoshop and Painter because Photoshop is what I had used to correct faults, play with lights/shadows, hue, etc., and Painter because I had used it to "sketch" some details in. There is no Daz|Studio option to mark under Software Used but if you read my post you’ll see that I had disclosed that "The character was rendered in Daz|Studio".

jan-vincent – the model is M3 and the majority of the texture is a preset with minor alterations made to it, by me, prior to its render and then afterwards in postwork.
