Hello, I was wondering if someone had an answer to my problem....Im using maya 8.5 and the contour shader for mental ray to render out a wireframe. Now it renders fine in the render view window howver, upon trying to batch render or render through a command shell it goes through the motions the files appear to be there but upon looking at them there is no image in the alpha....Does seomone know the solution to my problem? And yes I have turned on alpha channel in the maya settings....

Did you try to enable the "Pass Custom Alpha Channel" on the Mental Ray Render Globals Window down in Custom Entities tab? Maybe this is the answer you're looking for.
