View Full Version : "Hanzo" fighting ninja Short movie WIP

hello guys
this is my short movie project.. still in progress though.. actually I have been post the Ninja Jumping kick test (http://forums.cgsociety.org/showthread.php?f=153&t=561786) a few days ago. and now here is the full movie version of that jump.

this short movie is about a strong Ninja named Hanzo, who wants to break in to the oda nobunaga castle to kill him. but he has been stooped by a misterius ninja.. and they fight.
software used : Maya and Zbrush
it is not finish yet so critics or comment are always welcome ^ ^[/url]

here if you want to see all of my progress in this short, I'm still try to fix some minor movement. ;)

right now it's almost two months since I make the first concept and draw the storyboard for this short.. I hope this short movie will done before christmass this year...

The animation was superb; but the textures could use some work. I suppose that is why this is in the WIP. Only the first render change did not go so smoothly; that is something you might want to fix.

Other then that good job!

The animation needs some work, the walks feels off, their feet seem to be positioned in front of their root and it makes them feel very off balance. Also jumps throughout need some work, there's not enough settle after the land, the characters feels very stiff once they hit the ground, I would make a pass on everything tightening up the timing and working on poses, right now everything feels a little floaty and off balance. Keep up the good work

ok here's the climaks scene of the my shortmovie :D
just try to make them fighting each other
anyway aqtually it's a little bit hard to koreograph and imagine the fighting movement to make it looks good on the film. so I try some movement like back flip and some kick in real world first before I animate this scene ^ ^

All in all the animation seems stiff, you should try overexagerating the poses more. The weighting also seems off too. Keep working at it and thisll surely kick but.

here's the final update..
I've try to fix all the timming and overexagerating the pose in my animation
I've also make some experiment with the camera angle and movement.

what about this one guys.. is this still seems stiff too ?
