I've noticed the Time Samples will affect the Color Contrast (R,G,B) values under the Time Contrast tab. Every time I close down my project and reopen it the Time Samples drops back to 1, but the Color Contrast stays the same. When it renders, even though it should still look the same because the Color Contrast is the same, it's actually reading it back as it would be at default just because the Time Samples keeps resetting. Also, the attributes aren't keyable or able to be linked with an expression or SDK. If I echo all commands in the script editor the only thing it will tell me is a refresh command that looks like this:
mentalRayOptionsUpdateTimeSamples;
mentalRayOptionsCheckColorContrastTime;miUpdateRenderQualityMenu timeContrastB;
mentalRayOptionsCheckColorContrastTime;miUpdateRenderQualityMenu timeContrastG;
mentalRayOptionsCheckColorContrastTime;miUpdateRenderQualityMenu timeContrastR;
It doesn't actually give me any value for anything. I've had this problem with Maya 7, 8, 8.5, and 2008. Anyone else find a work-around or way to keep the Time Samples from constantly defaulting back to 1?
EDIT: Ok after doing some renders, apparantly in 8.5 by the Color Contrast values staying the same it isn't giving me any problems. In previous versions it was still an issue. I'm still curious as to why those attributes aren't keyable though.
