NewTek email mentions LW[8]

For the record, I got this email too. This thread's not a play on the other threads of the LW[8] topic.

Something to consider, though, that email isn't from Newtek even though it claims to be. They want you to go to 'www.learningstop.com'. I can't help but think that they just said that for grins.

I remember 7 and 7.5 coming out almost right after one another. I got the 6.5 bundle with aura then suddenly 7 was out. Then it jumped to 7.5 pretty rapidly. what was it a year or two between 6 and 7.5? if they keep up that pace then 8 may come out this year..

I think we all pretty much know LW 8 will hit at Siggraph or at least be shown.

Lets see a feature sheet like A/w or SI are doing for their updates! Now, that would be news. :thumbsup:

The email is from Newtek. The Seminars put on by LearningStop are Newtek sanctioned. My take on the LW8 part is to take it at face value.

Nice panda. Anyways, back to the topic.
Looks like the focus is changing from Newtek from the traditional, "It's ready when it's ready" and then boom, here it is, to the slow burning, teasing and little information hints that it's coming. This is good news, when it comes. But starting the slow cook of promotion and building the fire, if they don't hit the mark at Siggraph (the next most logical event to make a splash)....well, let's not think of that.

With all this news about the upcoming full point release, I'm still waiting for the upgrade fix that Newtek has been working hard to correct. One step at a time. I'm glad I'm not on a Mac.

I got that email too. And, for what its worth, the only reason why I even looked at this thread is because it was posted by Jen and knew that it wasn't going to be one of those "come on Newtek" threads (at least to start anyway). I'm in no hurry for LW8. I'm out of work in 2 1/2 weeks and money is going to be REALLY tight for a while.
