View Full Version : Character: Female Game Character
slice56 04-15-2003, 10:35 PM well, this is something i did a couple weeks ago. the concept was given to me from hypnotix. just letting you know its not my original concept. the face reference i used was a picture of jennifer connely. what you see below took me five days from start to finish. this is my first full female character modeled and textured. what do you guys think? let me know if you see anything i should fix. thanks!

yeah, looks pretty good..... but i dont know why you've bothered to model the creases, its just using polygons that could've been used elsewhere, especially seeing as how thats a detail that is usually defined in the texture anyway. It'll also make getting nice deformations for animation a lot harder to manage as well.
I'm not sure if they are creases in the shirt above her breasts etc but the wire looks really strange there and look like it will deform pretty badly too. Generally the rule for game models should be that if you look at the model in silhouette (all lights off so the model appears flat black) then anything that doesnt contribute to the shape of the silhouette should be done in a texture.... (and these days extending to normal maps as well)
hope it helps...
