Actually, i tried puting a lens effect on the camera in XSi, but I didn't have much control over it, and it put a nasty black circular rim around. So I did it manually by distorting the room and objects! :D
The easiest way to do that was using lattices - not sure if other software call them smthing else? you attach a box to the object and deform it by pushing the box points around. You can even animate the change! great fun.
