(http://assets.cgsociety.org/nvart/1195340410/1024bound)This is the beginning of a piece I intend to submit for the NVArt Amazing Creations competition. After looking through a lot of other talented peoples submissions, I realized that many of the works revolved around abstract realms of the art world. While this definitely follows the rule of being something that can only exist in the virtual world, I thought it would be nice to create something of surrealistic nature, rather than stress the abstract. I looked through a couple of galleries of Max Ernst's and Salvador Dali's art to gain further inspiration. I'll probably distort the finished piece with a modified lens shader in the end. Right now the piece consists of a cube hovering over a body of water. If my full vision is realized for this piece, I intend to have massive organic/circuit trees growing out of these cubes. The branches should grow glowing planets as fruit, and some of the cubes will be attacked by the body of water. It'll be a LOT of work, but I think it should turn out nice. In the meantime, please critique away!
