Here's a little evening suburban street scene in Cape Cod (still from a short animation in production).....

Very nice feel to this image. I like it a lot.

I'm curious though. Is the trees in the BG 2d? They look very good. Even the one in front of the house is well done. Most trees I have seen don't have as much detail to them as yours.

Can't wait to see the animation to this.

Tathar -- thanks for the cool feedback! The trees are 3D models -- I have a whole library of them. They were created with a plug-in for LightWave called Tree Druid (from Dynamic Realities). I made these with a pretty old version (compatible with 5.6) a few years ago, and use them quite often whenever I need realistic foliage.

The short film is called "Dime Store Genie", and is expected to hit film festivals this fall or winter.....

great image !,

can you please post a render from a different angle ?

basic rules of cinematography , never do a full frontal shot , makes it look flat.

Superb. I am a fan of the moonlit night scenes- particularly of streets and buildings.

Well done. Will you post some more views?

the lighting looks very good, but overall the image seems a bit too crisp. particularly the curb, roof and doorway. also i think maybe a little depth of field would help too. I would bevel the curb and add some kind of noise shader to it, and maybe a bump map that adds a few chips to it, nothing major just some randomness. maybe a different set of image maps for the roof? as for the doorway, also think dof could help here along with softer shadows...

The rest of the scene looks great the cars are very convincing, as are the fence and trees, very nice set you have built .:)
