this is twisted... hehehe
its okay.. but u can improve a lot in the eyebrows and side hair..
The modeling in the nose its.. well.. not finished IMHO.
If u using maya, use paint fx with control curves for hair..
Use the 'human-shader' found in highend3d.com for a more elaborate base material..
Keep going... ;)

sure...hehe..
well for the nose ...yeah it's kinda freaky actually i aimed for some cartoon like style...perhaps i didn't get it right..well next i'm using lightwave and i'm pretty happy with those hairs in saslite; plz gimme a hint what you would redefine...shader is based on a simple gradient with some really small distosion in it...nothing special ...
keep the c&c's coming....i can only learn if you crit me

Hello, HM User ;-)
You could attach some bump and noise texture to the face. It looks "too" clean. And maybe move the skin around the eyes near to the eyeballs.
Good Luck!

OK, I don't know really how experienced you are with Lightwave... But, as some of my colleagues from other Academies said that is just not much... I think the significant part of the application is that you're able to persuade the jury, that you're keen on a difficult, "stressy" time at the academy and you've got the skills. A really good work made throughout some months shows that:
1) Filmmaking ist an important part of your life.
2) the interests you have about filmmaking are not just temporary (VERY important!).
3) you have the right abilitiies to enroll such an institution.
I hope I could give some good advise.

well actually i'm keen on presenting them that in a personal dialogue...well i've got just hte idea that in other aplliance shorts there is 'just some story' with some or much cg..nah i'm just not the guy who can identify itself with such stories as in 'AS'....it's not my kind of thing....i need personalities or in that special short a weirdo....check out readmea.com and have a look at 'bug-eyed earl' then for sure you know what i think of...well all in all i think people actually don't have such a big whoooaa about monologues....they just want action tht's what i'm not representing in here...sure for a pro such a project would be done in a day or two...i'm not even doin' it part-time...i'm just a bum lettin' himself loose on the world...hehe....well after all i hope to be invited to some interview to show the people my issues

Yes, but to have a chance of such a dialoge, you should give 'em a hint of that in your movie. I just wrote some things on HM.com. ;)

It's not shitty! But just not ready for an application! and again: it's my opinion So, there's no reason for desparation. :)
I just had a glimpse into your profile and discovered that you're 2 years younger than me. Well, well. I think, that achievement up to the moment is not bad... :bounce:
So, keep on modeling!

I´m not very good at animating (i hope i´ll improve my skills until i´ll look forward to the SAE college in Vienna) and i dont know Lightwave, but i think its a little bit unspectacular, I dont know what you need or how good you have to be for that academie, but do something with that movie, make it more interesting.

hell yeah that's the damn point i'm talking about....'the crowd' wants something spectacular...a short without action will never gets honest attention or some feedback....perhaps such a short is just not acceptable for the 'audience' ....give 'em action, give 'em popcorn and they'll be happy....
well these days it looks like that about 85% joining the academy are already pro's with some years of experience gathered....but hell yeah i'm applying...trying to get the best out of it...keep on crit!

Hi, it's me again.
I think you could also give a demoreel to the academy. So if you have some really good things (3D & compositing), gather them and use them as an application. As far as I know some students have applies with their demoreels... And you have only at about 2 weeks time.
So, good luck if you wanna enroll the academy.:)
See you @ HM.com
