Hello all,

I'm wondering if anyone can help me, I am currently using Cinema 4D 10.111 on my PC workstation.

I am basically having issues with the viewport and random freezing/lock ups. Whenever I use C4D from time to time an app that is above the C4D viewport "sticks" so to speak to the viewport and I have to either click in the viewport or Edit -> Redraw to refresh the viewport.

Then from time to time Cinema locks up taking the machine with it.

I suspected it could be the Graphics card drivers, but I am currently running the latest drivers offered, 162.50_quadro_winxp2k_english_whql.

Is there a known issue with this GPU and C4D?

The machines specs are:

Windows XP Pro x64
Dual Quad Core Intel Xeon Processors X5355 (2.66Ghz)
8GB FB-DIMM DDR2-667 SDRAM (Memory)
PNY QuadroFX 4600 PRO-3D 768MB GDDR3 Graphics

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,
Dav

I can't tell of any general problems of this card, i tested it along with several other Quadros and it did work fine. I'm using a FX4500 for some months now without adverse effects.
A complete freeze does not sound specificaly like a graphics card issue but more like a general system problem.

I suspected it could be the Graphics card drivers, but I am currently running the latest drivers offered, 162.50_quadro_winxp2k_english_whql.

There is also a 162.62 driver, try that. I switched from the 162.50 because I was having some issues, probably with C4D, though I don't remember what they were. It was better with the .62 driver.

In C4D (v10.5) I did have to switch off 'smart updates' for the viewports, and am still not completely happy with how it behaves, but its not crashing or having quite the same problems you mention.

My machine is almost identical to yours, I just have dual 2.33s, same RAM, same graphics card, same OS, from Boxx.
