Hi,
I am doing some tests with fur in maya for a potential project but when i render using the rasterizer in Maya 2008, which is the recommended method to render fur apparently, i get errors in my render. As shown below
http://www.bedistinct.co.uk/Images_for_posting/scan_rast_compare.jpg
Is this a common problem in 2008, is 8.5 more reliable.
I have tried closing and opening maya, starting again with new scenes, but still probs.
I would really prefer to use the rasterizer as the anti aliasing quality is so much better and in conjunction with detailed shadows.
Also would you recommend modelling with nurbs or polys with the intention of adding fur. I have seen the digital tutors fur tutorials and he says nurbs, but that was using maya 4.5 some time ago.
If someone could fill me in with the rough do's and dont's with fur that would be great.
Hope someone can help
Many thanks
Rich
