Im the same, before the 2nd and last lord of the rings came out I refused to watch any of the trailers or even talk about it, which was hard to do as it was being shoved in your face 24/7 but i managed, and when I seen the movie I was blown away by it, especially being introduced to gollum, that character just blew me away, I refused to blink everytime he came on screen.
Anyway I cant wait to see this when it comes out, I dont mind watchin the trailers for it as they keep me guessing, and I love that.

I was really hoping for Cthulhu but I have heard that is not what the movie is about, it's just a Godzilla-like movie basically, but an American-made one instead (not really Godzilla, but it's the same kind of movie).

I was hoping it would be something so incredible in scope that it would be as if the whole catastrophe isn't even directed at humans, it's just beyond out comprehension or control, like ants being crushed by a human:p

Yeah saw it before beowulf, looks interesting but I really hope it's not "blair witch" handheld camera the whole time, I dont usually get motion sickness, but this trailer almost made me lose it.

oh and how many times is NY going to get destroyed in movies, we get it, NY is a vulnerable target, aren't there any other cities that deserve to be digitally destroyed? or does it's diversity make it the most politically correct city to attack, as in no culture escapes getting totally F'ed.

NY is always chosen because of the easy to recognize land marks. It's the largest city in the US, one of the largest in the world even. A lot of Hollywood Directors have leaped at the chance of destroying this city. Outside of LA and Chicago I don't think there's any other US city that would garner the "Oh SH*&^T" mechanism of a major city being destroyed. LA being as big as it is, has no recognizable skyline attributes. Chicago does with the Sears Tower, NY just seems to work well because of it's outlet to the Ocean.

U couldn't do a Godzilla attacks Houston, Dallas, Detriot and etc, base don one simple fact, the moster has a lot of land mass to cross before he or she can even begin reeking havoc.

At 1:28 in the trailer you get a glimpse of the monster .. looks like another giant lizard flick.
The shadow of the woman exploding behind the screen was a little odd... maybe they're crossing Godzilla with Aliens.

Do you guys noticed how much different looks the shot of the falling of the head of the statue of liberty from the teaser to this trailer?? It looks a whole lot better right now.

Well... i think now im more excited than before. I hope the movie delivers... and i really wouldn´t mind if you never get a good look of the thing, as long as the movie keeps me clinging to my seat the whole way through (a la Blair Witch Project).

meh, the cinematography is cool and i like that it's from the perspective of random innocent bystanders, but once the creature is revealed i have a feeling it's gonna turn into another generic monster/disaster flick. oh well.
