Hey there ,
I'm finishing up my rigging showreel.

I've finished all my rigs , but if i make an animation of all the rigs movements, how do i render the animation in such a way that all the controls of the rig are also visible in the rendered avi ????

We all know that if you make a Batch render in Maya it only renders geometry , so how exactly i should render my animations so that if required even the joints and the model in the wireframe view can be rendered ???
All I wann do is just make rigging reel like all other ppl show in their reel

Thanks beforehand.

And please dont say PLAYBLAST ..........

PLAYBLAST!!
can't you set up the playblast to be high quality? don't know, cause I don't really do any animation/simulations.

What I would do is use camtasia or equivalent to record what you see on screen.

it you take some time to look through the display options you'll be able to get your viewport looking pretty nice - then just set up a camera and do a playblast...

Thanks for the reply , Arctor just posted the way to do it.

I noticed in the Playblast options window there is a dropdown names Display Size through which you can playblast throug your render Settings or your Custom Camera
GREAT !! I'll just try that out . Thanks man.

Playblasts can do the job, but are limited to setting up everything to play out as you render.

If you can get hold of a program called Camtasia (or something similar) you can capture everything on your screen. Like a VCR record. Which means the video itself can show how you interactively select and modify the rig when controlling the character. This interactivity makes your rigs a lot better to see in their functionality.

All the DVDs and Video tutorials are done with such software. You can probably get something that is free if you look around. Camtasia isn't free.
