As I know, there are several cool products and researches on interactive/progressive renderer with film/animation quality like FPrime (http://www.worley.com/E/Products/fprime/fprime.html), Rendition (http://www.holomatix.com/products/rendition/), Lpics (http://www.vidimce.org/publications/lpics/) and Lightspeed (http://people.csail.mit.edu/jrk/lightspeed/). I am very curious what else is because it seems to be a trend for CG industry!!
