Using Mental Ray in Maya 2008
I have made a layered texture that places 4 Texture maps into one input color on a Lambert or any other shader of you’re choosing. The need for this has arisen due to multiple shaderes/shadergroups attached to one surface and causing corruption of the shader groups when referencing in the production pipe line.
In testing this shader in maya 2008 with mental ray the top texture on the shader takes over and the mask is ignored even though in the hypershade the shader looks right and in software the shader renders correct. Both the Layered shader and the layerd texture is having this bug in maya 2008. I opened the file up in maya 7 and 8.5 and the bug was non existent.
Any body with the same problem?
