hi i ve animated a character, gave him some head hai. I ve baked the hair.
The baked animation looks very well in the viewport.

Now, i render the scene with the baked hair through Netrender with 70 cpu s.

the result the hair s jumps around like crazy whatever.

but why? the baking is still active in the project saved scene and works well in the viewport

what happened here?

Do your render clients have different CPU's? Normally you'll get different calculations when using a mixed cpu renderfarm. Caching the HAIR as far as I know just caches the guides, not the hairs themselves which are generated at rendertime.

core 2 duos and quad core s
so intel only

one thing more to mention,, the character has a moustache and eye brows which dont jitter

the strange thing is, sometimes the hair rendering is perfect
but it happens oftnen in projects that the hair goes crazy if rendered via net render

Its probably best to check it out yourself to find out why. First thing to do is to see if a plain render will work and then work up. So start by turning off any fill hairs (if you've used any), then any dynamics, then in any hair materials turn off all styling. Now check if it has the jitter. Then work back slowly. Often this quickly finds out why. Then if you still can't fix it you have more info to give here so maybe some knows a solution. At the moment its a little too vague. It might also help to know what C4d version you are using since hair has changed over the versions with the latest version having some major render enhancements.

check all Obeardy's suggestions first. If its still happening are you using point caching, have you done anything to change the models geometry etc? What is your hair growth set to?

I've been working on a massive hair project and a few times now I've corrupted the hair so that the hairs change their interpolation every frame and its impossible to fix so far as I've seen i jsut return to an early save, remember to save incrimental often. I should note the only time it has ever happened to me is when I've been doing a lot of switching in an out of morph targets and point caches etc. I think eventually the rooting breaks but not exactly sure yet.

the problem continues.....

i ve tried to switch off all special hair meterial attributes like clump frizz etc
i ve tried less hair amount 1000 instead of 5000
the character has no point caching or morph targets
all render cpu s are intel
i ve deleted the hair, and made some new one
i ve tried without collision
i ve tried without dynamics
i ve tried with the standard orientated hair
i ve tried to render it on a single pc

result

net render:
nothing helps
strange that only the head hair jumps, moustache and eyebrows behave normal
i had this problem already once in the past with a santa clause figure.
still jumping around

single pc:
works fine , but i cant render so much frames on one pc thats not efficient

i use 10.08

i use 10.08
Make sure to get 10.111 then, several bugs have been fixed in that version

Any chance of posting a movie of the jumping, especially the render with everything turned off as that is really odd. If everything is turned off then the only way the hair could be changing is if the guides are, have you tried setting the hairs to Guides to see what they're doing during the animation?

Also make sure you have the same client version on all render nodes.

same client versions everywhere

i will post new vids soon in 2 or 3 day
guides in viewport
animation without specials, just hair and geometry....
