howdy,

i am a newbie and i am trying to model a character.... My problem is, that the default lighting or whatever is screwed up... my character in the viewport is totally shaded, i can hardly see him, then when i render it i can see alot more of him, but i still have crappy shadows.

Can anyone help please?

Thanks,

Ashe

Ok, first off, the default lighting has no shadows.

Second, you really could help us help you by supplying us with a screenshot and a render of your problem.

Try hitting ctrl L. It sounds like you might have some other lighting in the scene and this toggles between the default lighting and the true scene lighting.
