Well i ahve been seaching around for this kind of explination.

I have made a house for the next gen.... engine "Unreal (UT2K7)" but i made the maps wrong i think. Many of the textures could be tile insted of unwrapped (unwrapped the whole model) and used 3 x 2048px maps which can be heavy.

I can easy make it to 1 map if i use tilemaps and get thesame result BUT then i need to make the tile texture diffrent on diffrent sides of the walls for an example. How do i do that with a tilemap? And which slot do i use in 3ds max?

If i put the tilemap in diffuse where do i place the dirt/crackmap?Also how do such map look like?is there a tutorial somewhere on this topic?

Im a bit stuck now so i have to wait for some kind person to answere

Meny thanks!!!

?

is it me thats asking for something that dont exist ?? How do i dirt up a house who has tile textures so it breaks the pattern from the tilemap?Im talking about exporting it to UT3 so i need to know the workflow and which slot in 3ds max i need to put that extra map which is breaking the diffuse tilemap.I have posted this question in 3 diffrent forums and noone answere my question. Is it hard or is it something i cant do?or normally do in games?I dont want that boring look of tile textures.Otherwise i need to uvw unwrap everything and it will make the map chunk

Hello

cracking goes in the bump material channel

believe ut3 can use multi uv channels, so add more that one to your model
modify> uvw mapping - set your channel and uv tiling amount
add same modifier again but set different channel number and uv's

make a 'blend' material, 1st bitmap load and assign to first map channel coordinates> map channel
load in the next bitmap and assign second channel
go back to main 'blend' material settings and adjust mix setting 0-100 50 is 50/50 blend

try to see if it will run.
