Hi all,
I'm a complete newbie, so don't blame me.

I'm trying to model an electrochemical cell made of glass.

I did the model with Modo (Luxology), then I did a couple of go with the render, but I'm stuck. I used a material parameter from a tutorial and I tried the BAA_thickGlass.LXP (from Luxology website) some slight difference, but the problem still the same. have a look to the pictures, only the camera position was changed

The model is made of a single item, I don't get why the horizontal bit inside and the bottom of the cell are black, checking in the second picture is pretty clear that it looks black only when it is covered with the external wall of the cell.

Is there any way to have rid of this strange effect?

If you need any information about the parameter of light, material o whatever just ask.

If you need I could upload the file somewhere and link it.

Thanks
Max

It looks to me like you have to turn up your maximum number of ray refractions. If you select the render item and go to one of the tabs for it, there's a setting for it. Turn it up to like eight or twelve or something.

I check on the rendering pref of the material, but the only thing I found about ray reflection is about "blurry reflection" in the tab of the camera, I changed it but nothing happened.

No no no, click the thing at the top of the shader tree called "Render" and there are tabs called "Frame," "Settings" and "Global Illumination." In one of those three tabs (can't remember which one), there's a setting for refraction depth.

Yes yes yes :)

It's worked, thank's for helping me.
